General information

Pharmacy studies last five and a half years and are conducted full-time in Polish*. They include compulsory and optional classes as well as internships in public and hospital pharmacies. Classes are held on a semester basis. Individual subjects end with an exam or a pass in accordance with the study program. Each subject is assigned an appropriate number of credit points (European Credit Transfer System, ECTS). The total number of points awarded for the entire year is 60. Obtaining the required number of credit points is related to passing all classes in accordance with the study program. A person graduating from pharmacy studies should accumulate a total of 330 points, complete and defend a master’s thesis, pass a master’s examination and complete a mandatory six-month internship in a pharmacy.

A graduate of the field of pharmacy obtains a master’s degree in pharmacy and is prepared to work in public and hospital pharmacies, in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food industries, as well as in scientific and research units related to drug research.

By resolution of March 26, 2004, the field of pharmacy received an Accreditation Certificate issued by the Accreditation Commission of Medical Universities for a period of 5 years.

Pursuant to resolution No. 819/2019 of the Presidium of the Polish Accreditation Committee of November 14, 2019, the Jagiellonian University Collegium Medium Faculty of Pharmacy in Krakow – the field of pharmacy at the level of uniform master’s studies with a general academic profile received a positive assessment for a period of 5 years.
