More NCN Miniatura grants for scientists from the Faculty of Pharmacy

On November 3rd, the National Science Center published the 6th ranking list of the Miniatura 7 competition. The projects recommended for financing will be implemented at all three faculties of the Jagiellonian University – Medical College.

The aim of the Miniatura competition is to support financially scientific activities aimed at preparing the assumptions of a research project that will be submitted in other national or international competitions. In the competition, one can obtain from PLN 5,000 to PLN 50,000 for the implementation of a scientific activity lasting up to 12 months. Scientists with a PhD awarded no earlier than January 1, 2011 (with exceptions described in the regulations) may apply for funding. They must be employed in the entity designated to implement the action and have at least one published scientific paper or at least one artistic or artistic-scientific achievement.

These funds are distributed proportionally throughout the entire recruitment period, and the application may be qualified for financing only if it falls within the pool of funds allocated for a given month.

The 6th ranking list of the Miniatura 7 competition included:

  • Dr. Adam Bucki (Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy) – Virtual screening of new inhibitors of NMDA and TRPM4 receptor interactions with neuroprotective effects (preliminary/pilot studies),
  • Dr. Karolina Klesiewicz (Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Faculty of Pharmacy) – Alicyclic amine derivatives as a potential therapeutic option in infections caused by multidrug-resistant strains of bacteria of the genus Enterococcus spp. (preliminary/pilot studies),
  • Dr. Ewelina Łyszczarz (Department of Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmaceutics, Faculty of Pharmacy) – Assessment of the impact of the electrospinning process on the physicochemical properties of solid dispersions containing antiretroviral drugs (preliminary/pilot studies)
