Studies in medical analytics last 5 years and are conducted in a uniform system, full-time in Polish*. They include compulsory classes, optional classes and internships in medical diagnostic laboratories after the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year of studies. Classes are conducted on a semester basis. The study program includes subjects with basic content and subjects with specialized content. Individual basic subjects end with an exam or a pass. Major subjects end with an exam, which includes a practical and theoretical part, or a pass. Each subject is assigned an appropriate number of credit points (ECTS – European Credit Transfer System). The total number of points awarded for the entire year is 60. Obtaining the required number of points means passing all subjects in accordance with the study program. A person completing studies in medical analytics should accumulate a total of 300 ECTS points, complete and defend a master’s thesis and pass a master’s examination.

A graduate of medical analytics obtains a master’s degree. Pursuant to the Act on the Profession of Laboratory Diagnostician, such a person receives the professional title of laboratory diagnostician.

A graduate of medical analytics is prepared to work in medical diagnostic laboratories, health care facilities conducting clinical trials, scientific and research centers, control and measurement units and laboratories in the field of biology and medical genetics, general hygiene, food control and testing, and environmental protection.

Pursuant to resolution No. 818/2019 of November 14, 2019, the Presidium of the Polish Accreditation Committee of the Jagiellonian University Collegium Medium, Faculty of Pharmacy in Krakow – the field of medical analytics at the level of uniform master’s studies with a practical profile, received a positive assessment for a period of 5 years.
