Academic Career Festival UJ

The first ever Academic Career Festival will be held within the walls of the Jagiellonian University. The event is addressed to the research and teaching staff of our university and aims to introduce the values behind the European Charter for Researchers, to share the experience and expert knowledge of JU researchers in applying for grants and building interdisciplinary and international research teams.

The activities of the first day of the Academic Career Festival will take place in the buildings of the Faculty of Chemistry on the Campus of the 600th Anniversary of the JU Renewal. There will be, among others:

  • workshops “Planning a researcher’s career – from competence to action”,

  • presentation with a panel discussion “Career Testimonies: Choices, Challenges,

    and Curiosity“,

  • presentation on communities of practice and learning in action of academic teachers,

  • meeting “Researcher in the network: from local actions to global alliances“.

On the second day of the event in the Auditorium Maximum of the Jagiellonian University, the following are planned:

  • presentation with a Q&A session “How to write a good grant application

    and get to a research paradise?“,

  • presentation on how to build and maintain a research team,

  • discussion with the participation of the authorities of the Jagiellonian University.

At the same time, information points will be available on the 3rd Campus and in the Auditorium Maximum:

  • NAWA-MSCA and the Horizontal Contact Point for South-Eastern Poland,

  • The JU Science Support Centre, which invites employees and doctoral students to take advantage of a comprehensive support offer in the preparation and implementation of projects financed from external sources,

  • employees of the International Cooperation Centre will talk about the activities of the Welcome Center,

  • The Human Resources Centre will help with HR issues,

  • Una Europa will present its activities: the stand will provide information about the Una Europa association, university networks and opportunities for academic career development through participation in the events, projects and activities of the association and networks.

Among the speakers are researchers from our university who will boast of their experience and successes in creating international research teams and applying for grants and scholarships.
