Success for UJCM Scientists in NCN Competition – MINIATURA 9 Grant for a Faculty of Pharmacy Researcher!

We are very pleased to announce that four scientists from the Jagiellonian University Medical College are among the winners of the latest edition of the MINIATURA 9 competition, organized by the National Science Centre (NCN). Among them is Dr. Agata Antosik-Rogóż from the JU MC Faculty of Pharmacy.

The grant awarded to Dr. Agata Antosik-Rogóż will support her research project titled “Selection of the optimal method for masking the bitter taste of a medicinal substance on the example of oseltamivir – an antiviral substance.” This research is of key importance for the advancement of pharmacy, especially in the context of pediatric and geriatric drugs.

The group of laureates from the Medical College also includes researchers from the Faculty of Medicine:

  • Dr. Estera Jachowicz-Matczak with the project: “WGS characterization of Escherichia coli isolates from Polish patients with bacteremia who developed sepsis or septic shock”;

  • Dr. Jakub Hołda with the project: “Microstructure of mitral and tricuspid annulus disjunction”;

  • Dr. Paulina Urbaniak with the project: “Architecture of the atrioventricular node in the context of aging and obesity – a morphological analysis”.

The MINIATURA competition supports the research activities of early-career scientists, preparing them for future, larger grant applications.
