On the list of projects recently announced by the Board of the Małopolska Voivodeship that received funding under the European Funds for Małopolska 2021-2027 program, there are two investments to be implemented at UJ CM:
Laboratory of Biomedical Applied Spectroscopy – funding amount: PLN 11,832,184.88,
Laboratory for Research on Physical Performance and Skeletal Muscle Energetics in Humans – funding amount: PLN 2,131,589.28.
The first unit will be established at the Faculty of Pharmacy, on the UJ CM Medical Campus.
“It will be a specialized research center focused on the application of advanced molecular spectroscopy and microscopy techniques in the analysis of clinical material, biomedical material, and drugs,” explains Prof. Marcin Kołaczkowski, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at UJ CM.
The Laboratory for Research on Physical Performance and Skeletal Muscle Energetics in Humans will operate within the structure of the Department of Exercise Physiology and Muscle Bioenergetics at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Jagiellonian University Medical College (UJ CM).
“A tangible effect of creating this laboratory will be the ability to conduct scientific research in the field of exercise physiology at a world-class level,” says Prof. Jerzy Żołądź, Head of the Department of Exercise Physiology and Muscle Bioenergetics at the Faculty of Health Sciences. “It will also enable us to conduct physiological research involving competitive athletes such as track and field athletes, cyclists, footballers, or swimmers.”
