We are delighted to announce that Dr. hab. Agnieszka Zagórska and Katarzyna Szafrańska, M.Sc., both affiliated with the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the JU MC Faculty of Pharmacy, have been selected to join the group of 25 participants in the prestigious “Science Has a Voice” (Nauka ma głos) programme.
This initiative, run by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Copernicus Science Centre, aims to build public trust in science by developing the communication skills of researchers. The participants, selected from 83 candidates, will take part in workshops to develop engaging and accessible ways of presenting their scientific work.
The new communication formats will be tested live during meetings with the public at the Copernicus Science Centre and throughout Poland.
Dr. hab. Agnieszka Zagórska, a specialist in medicinal chemistry and a member of the “Science Advocates” (Rzecznicy Nauki) Association, will guide the public through the fascinating journey a molecule designed in a laboratory must take to become a medicine. Her research focuses on designing and synthesising new chemical compounds that could become innovative pharmaceuticals in the future.
As part of the project, Katarzyna Szafrańska, M.Sc., will focus on introducing the topic of modern methods in drug design, showing how scientists use advanced techniques to create more effective and safer therapies.
We sincerely congratulate both researchers and wish them the best of luck in inspiring a wider audience with their passion for science!
