Professor Katarzyna Kieć-Kononowicz was awarded the title of Honorary Member of the European Federation of Medicinal Chemistry (EFMC)

The title of Honorary Member of the European Federation of Medicinal Chemistry is an extremely prestigious distinction awarded to people whose activities have significantly contributed to the development of medicinal chemistry and biological chemistry in Europe.
This distinction was awarded to Professor Kieć-Kononowicz for many years of work on the EFMC Council, her commitment to representing Polish medicinal chemists and in recognition of her efforts to integrate the Polish Society of Medicinal Chemistry with the structures of EFMC. The Professor’s activities significantly contributed to strengthening the recognition of the Polish Society of Medicinal Chemistry in the international arena. Thanks to her efforts, Polish medicinal chemistry has gained greater visibility and recognition among the best scientists in the world.
It is worth mentioning that the professor’s scientific interests focus on medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutical biotechnology, in particular on the design, synthesis and assessment of the properties of ligands for GPCR proteins, including adenosine, histamine and orphan receptors such as GPR18 and GPR55. The Professor has been among the TOP 2% of the best scientists in the world for years.
We are proud that Professor Katarzyna Kieć-Kononowicz received the title of Honorary Member of EFMC. May her example inspire us all to continue working for medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutical sciences, in the spirit of cooperation and mutual support.
