On October 8, a ceremony was held at the Presidential Palace, during which the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, awarded the title of professor to 103 academic teachers and workers of science and art. Among them are four scientists from the Jagiellonian University – Medical College.
The newly appointed are:
Marek Bajda (Faculty of Pharmacy) – professor of medical and health sciences in the discipline of pharmaceutical sciences,
Krzysztof Kamiński (Faculty of Pharmacy) – professor of medical and health sciences in the discipline of pharmaceutical sciences,
Aleksandra Klimkowicz-Mrowiec (Faculty of Medicine) – professor of medical sciences and health sciences in the discipline of medical sciences,
Aleksander Konturek (Faculty of Medicine) – professor of medical sciences and health sciences in the discipline of medical sciences.
The President of the Republic of Poland, based on the request of the Council for Scientific Excellence, awards professorial titles to science and art workers and academic teachers. The decision to award the title of professor is made by the President of the Republic of Poland in the form of a resolution, previously countersigned by the Prime Minister. This title is awarded to a habilitated doctor for outstanding scientific achievements, conducting scientific research or participating in research teams, or for outstanding artistic achievements.
