The international journal “Pharmaceutical Research” has recently published its second special issue, prepared in collaboration with the Women in Pharmaceutical Sciences Community—a group operating within the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. The initiative’s primary goal is to highlight the role of women as leaders in scientific research and to promote their impressive achievements in the pharmaceutical sciences.
The newly published issue draws special attention to the growing participation of women in science and their increasing impact on research conducted at universities, research institutes, and within the pharmaceutical industry. It also cites the latest bibliometric analyses, which clearly show a steady increase in the number of female authors of scientific publications.
A special highlight in this issue is the remarkable achievement of two researchers from the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmaceutics at the UJ CM Faculty of Pharmacy: Urszula Bąk-Kuchejda, MSc, and Anna Krupa, Assoc. Prof. Their review article titled “Challenges and Opportunities for Celecoxib Repurposing,” published in the first special issue of the journal in 2023, garnered exceptional interest within the scientific community. The publication has been viewed over 11,000 times and cited 45 times, making it one of the most frequently read articles of that issue.
This international recognition stands as excellent proof of the high quality of research conducted at UJ CM and the significant contribution of our female scientists to the development of modern pharmaceutical sciences.
