On Monday, January 26, 2026, a meeting inaugurating cooperation with the King Casimir the Great High School No. 1 in Olkusz took place at the Jagiellonian University Medical College Faculty of Pharmacy. The event combined the official conclusion of the partnership with practical classes for students.

Immediately after the official part, students from class 3D of High School No. 1 took part in a dedicated educational program prepared by the Faculty’s academic staff. The visit began with a thematic lecture, after which the youth were invited to the laboratories.
During the workshops, the high school students had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the specifics of laboratory work at an academic level. The program included, among others:
microscopic observation of urine sediment (laboratory diagnostics),
chemical analysis of selected drugs,
discussion of the synthesis process of new medicinal substances.
The established cooperation assumes regular contact of students with the JU MC academic environment. Thanks to the patronage agreement, the youth from Olkusz will gain the opportunity to participate in didactic classes, student research groups, and science popularization events, aiming to facilitate their conscious choice of a further educational path in medical fields.
